I remember this song coming pretty quickly... the structure I worked out a little over time, but the main riff into the chorus was done in a day. This just felt like it was overcoming something... overcoming fears, doubts, anxieties, etc. As I got older two very distinct things happened: I stopped caring about what other people thought about me and I started to believe more in my instincts and convictions. This song is about that... this is my "selfish" song... this is mine.
